A winning streak
It’s been a stellar year so far for Vocalink on the awards circuit with major wins at the 2017 Central Banking Awards, National Technology Awards and the Lafferty Global Awards. And it’s not only our world-class technology that is catching the eye of the judges - now our world-class people are too!
Summer kicked off in style for Vocalink’s marketing department when our Director of Marketing and Customer Insight, Cara O'nions, was recognised for her work in establishing a centre of B2B marketing excellence at Vocalink, positioning our brand at the centre of the conversation about the future of payments. Over the past 5 years, Cara has made it a priority to not only understand how marketing can propel a business forward but, also to understand our business, the value we bring to our customers and society. She has designed and delivered marketing support that has repositioned us as a global leader in payments infrastructure. It is this passion for bold, purposeful marketing that was celebrated on the 23rd June when won the prize for Marketer of the Year at the B2B Marketing People Awards in London.
And the winning spree doesn’t end there. At the end of June, Gilbert Verdian, supported by his expert team, took home the award for ‘CISO of the Year’- the most prestigious award of the night at the 2017 Cyber Security Awards. This year, the judges were looking for an exceptional leader, both internally and within the industry, who had created a security culture throughout their organisation. Since joining Vocalink in 2016, Gilbert has led a team determined to take security to another level, protecting a critical part of the UK’s infrastructure, protecting UK citizens and businesses from fraud and risk and, by extension, allowing them to live as they want to. Under Gilbert’s guidance, Vocalink security is not merely best-in-class, but setting a new standard.
Established in 2014, The Cyber Security Awards were designed to reward the best cyber security individuals, teams and companies across the world - with a focus throughout on excellence and innovation. This win makes it two years in a row for our security experts who also won the ‘Cyber Awareness Plan of the Year’ at the 2016 ceremony.
