VocaLink is victorious at the Payments Awards
Last week saw the great and the good from the payments industry gather in London to recognise card and payments excellence and innovation.
At this year’s annual Payments Awards, a large number of talented businesses fought it out for top spot in their categories. Among an extremely competitive field, VocaLink ended the evening victorious, winning the award for Clearing/Settlement Initiative of the Year for our contract with The Clearing House (“TCH”) in the US to develop a real-time payments system, to link all the nation’s bank accounts and become the most comprehensive real-time payment system ever developed.
VocaLink’s solution will provide a set of services that allows payments to be made in real-time and via multiple channels. Based on our existing Immediate Payments Solution, the system provides real-time inter-bank account to account transfers.
George Evers, Immediate Payments Services Director at VocaLink, commented, “We are delighted to have won this award. For us, it not only recognises the hard work the team at VocaLink has put into this initiative with TCH, but also the global significance of bringing real-time payments technology to the US, the world’s largest payment area.
“When we look at the United States, we see an exciting opportunity to revolutionise the way that money moves. We view our Real-Time Solution as a critical national programme of change that not only has the potential to transform the US economy, but to also to have a major impact on the payments industry globally. We’re proud of our work, the partnerships that we have forged and the crucial role we play every day in shaping the global payments landscape.”
VocaLink and other recipients of the Payments Industry Awards 2016 were honoured during the awards dinner and presentation on 20th October, 2016 at the London Marriott Hotel in Mayfair, attended by the finalists, industry leaders, and judges.
