Responsible Business Week
This week marks Business in the Community’s ‘Responsible Business Week’, an opportunity for organisations to showcase ways in which they work together to turn ambition into positive action for a fairer society and a more sustainable future. There are a number of events being held across the week, including talks and debates looking at how we can improve society via our core business, valuing healthy ecosystems and what it means to be a trusted brand.
The VocaLink business has been working alongside BITC over a number of years to ensure our organisation has our people, customers, community and the environment at the centre of all of our decision making. Over the past year we are proud to have become a zero waste to landfill company, as well as reducing our Data Centre Co2 emissions by 18%. We are committed to the communities that we work within and eight per cent of spend was directed to local businesses during 2015, and 75 days of our colleagues time were spent volunteering in the local community. Our customers sit at the heart of what we do and we are proud that 92% rated us at 8 to 10 in terms of satisfaction.
As a business, we recognise that there is always room to grow and improve and we look forward to being part of Responsible Business Week and hearing stories of best practices from other organisations. We remain committed to our responsible business programme during 2016 and beyond, and remain focussed on ensuring that our colleagues feel proud to work at VocaLink and our customers continue to recommend our service.
